The Monthly page holds two things side by side that most calendars quietly merge: the personal month a chart is moving through, and the pillar of the actual calendar day it lands on. They are not always in agreement. Most of the time nobody notices, because most days the two currents run parallel. This page exists for the days they don’t.
Today’s pillar is Geng Yin — Metal stem sitting over a Wood branch, a Metal Tiger day. That’s already a small disagreement built into the day itself, stem and branch pulling in different directions before any personal month is laid over it. The date carries 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, with 2 doubled, and comes in weighted toward earth — two of the five elemental slots filled by it, the rest thin. None of that is a verdict. It’s the raw material the page cross-references against whatever month a given chart is currently sitting in.
The Monthly doesn’t smooth the two readings into one story. When the personal month says one thing and the pillar underneath it says another, that gap is the finding — not an error to be corrected, but the actual shape of the month, reported as found.
