The Monthly page holds two things at once: a personal month, carried forward from birth data, and the pillar the calendar has assigned to that stretch of days. Most of the time these run parallel and nobody notices. The page exists for the times they don’t — when the month a person is living asks for one thing and the pillar underneath insists on another.
