You are going to check these. So they are stated up front, and you can test every one of them against a chart you already know.
The year turns at Li Chun
Not 1 January, and not the lunar new year. Born on 3 February 1985 you are a Wood Rat. Born on 4 February you are a Wood Ox. The boundary is computed for your date, never assumed.
Your birth city, not your country
Toa Payoh resolves to its own coordinates and its own time zone, and so does Petaling Jaya. Same name, same date, same clock time, a different city — and the rising sign changes, sometimes the moon with it.
The hour pillar is computed
It needs your birth time and the true local zone, which is why that field is there. Leave it blank and the reading says plainly what it could not calculate, rather than filling the gap.
The day master, named plainly
The element your chart runs on, and whether it sits strong or weak in the month of the Chinese calendar it was born into. Stated on the snapshot page as a calculation, not hidden inside the prose.
And what it does not do. No luck pillars, no ten gods, no verdict on your favourable element. Four systems are computed and read against each other, including where they contradict — that is the whole product. Any claim that does not trace back to a calculation is discarded before it reaches you.
