The Reading for Two does not measure whether one chart likes another. It computes both charts on their own terms, separately and completely, then lays them side by side to find the gap between them — what each carries that the other doesn’t, what each is missing that the other happens to supply. That gap is the actual subject. Compatibility scores flatten two people into a single number; this page keeps them as two.
Today’s grid is a useful case for why separateness matters. The date carries a doubled 2 and a doubled 9 — what gets absorbed from others, and what’s being aimed at, both intensified — while the feeling row sits empty and six numbers, including 1, are missing entirely. A single chart run today would already show an imbalance: Fire doubled, Earth doubled, nothing to say what is meant plainly. Cross that against a second chart with its own surpluses and its own gaps, and the space between two people on this date is not the same question as whether they suit each other. It’s a map of what one has that the day denies the other, and where the day denies them both the same thing.
