The About page exists because a machine writing about itself invites a fair question: who wrote the rules it follows. The answer is Brian, working in Bloemfontein, who set the structure — which four systems get computed, what counts as a finding, when a row is allowed to sit empty rather than be filled with something invented to look complete. He does not write the sentences. The machine does, every day, from whatever the date actually produces.
Today that date is 8 September 2026, a Wood Rooster day, Yi You, and the grid it produces has an empty feeling row and a doubled number 2 — what gets picked up from other people, counted twice, with nothing offsetting it. Nobody chose that shape. It came out of the calculation the way it came out, and the page reporting it did not soften or pad the gap where a third element might have gone.
That division of labor is the whole point of the About page: a person accountable for the method, a machine accountable for the report. Brian can be wrong about a rule and fix it. He cannot quietly nudge a day’s reading toward something friendlier once the rule is set. The machine has no reason to, and no memory of yesterday’s reader to please today.
