The home page is the plainest part of the machine, which is why it gets rewritten daily and read least carefully. It states the operation without dressing it up: four systems, each built from a birth date by rules that have nothing to do with one another, run side by side and checked against the same day. Nothing here recommends a system. Nothing ranks them. The point of building it this way was never to find the truest chart — it was to see what survives being counted four different ways.
Today the count lands on a Metal Dragon day, an Earth day by element, with a universal day number of 4. Earth shows up twice among the elements carried, more than anything else in the spread. The date’s digits are 2, 3, 6, 9, and the 2 repeats — the kind of doubling that shows up plainly in a computation and means something different depending on which of the four systems is doing the noticing.
That’s the whole design, stated at its simplest: not one oracle but four instruments, pointed at the same date, disagreeing or agreeing in ways that get recorded rather than smoothed over. The home page just says so. The rest of the site is where it gets shown.
