Which year do you actually mean?
There are three, they start on different days, and they do not contain the same days — so they do not produce the same reading. You choose. Most sites never ask, because most sites only compute one.
The Chinese year
Li Chun to Li Chun. It turns in early February, and the exact day moves between the 3rd and the 5th — this engine computes the moment rather than assuming a date. This is the year of the animal.
Your personal year
Birthday to birthday. The personal year number is the spine the whole reading is built on, and it turns on the day you were born, not on anyone else’s calendar.
The calendar year
1 January to 31 December. The one your diary uses. Straightforward, and the right choice if you are planning against an ordinary year.
